Ah, Back Bay–my old living quarters. I’m actually heading out there next month so I’ll add this to my to-do list (along with some proper lobster rolls).
Is it absolutely shameful to call these meatballs, well, ballsy? And I don't just mean name-dropping Kobe at a bar that has all the varnished trappings of Back Bay's after-work scene. Available on the $2 small plates menu (daily 4pm-6pm and Thu-Sat 10:30pm-midnight), the meaty, impaled trio of orbs "tossed in a Szechuan glaze" are, to my surprise, quite munchable. Dense lil' moist balls leave the palate with a bit of sweet and real heat--a fire that's easily quenched by a ginormous "premium vodka" dirty martini 'round these parts.
