Being Popeye for the day wasn’t so bad. Well, sort of. I decided to have a spinach pie or Spanakopita at Athena Roasted Chicken instead of a can of spinach. The rectangular-shaped pie was a tasty blend of spinach and feta cheese baked in a fillo or flaky pastry. The spinach pie’s ingredients were mixed together well and not one ingredient overshadowed the other. The spinach pie’s filio pastry also didn’t crumble all over the place while cutting it into pieces, which was a bonus. One thing is for sure, the Greek goddess of wisdom didn’t steer me wrong with selecting the spinach pie at this Maitland eatery.
