Tenderloin sliders at Burtons Grill by the Fenway hit it out of the culinary ballpark and at under four bucks, an order is cheaper than anything you can get from a hot dog vendor. Part of the "After-Work Recession Buster" menu (which features a litany of $3.95 small plates, available daily from 4pm to 7pm), the shredded tenderloin meat comes sandwiched between soft mini-hamburger buns with provolone cheese and tartar sauce. I initially was skeptical about tartar sauce in my sliders, but I actually ended up liking the subtle tang it added. (And luckily, the burger didn't resemble anything close to a fish sandwich). Each order comes with two sliders and a generous side of seasoned fries, making this "small plate" a meal in itself and the perfect primer before a Sox game.
