As a naive American when it comes to Korean bakeries, I was intrigued by the variety of cream-stuffed pastries (manjus) with unique flavors such as red bean and coffee cream. The pumpkin manju caught my eye and satisfied my palette to boot. The mini-bread pastry was so freshly baked, and the flavor burst was like Thanksgiving dessert in my mouth. The filling was a sweet, rich, and savory pumpkin pie flavor with so much substance, it felt like I had just devoured an entire pie in one sitting.
