What's Up Dog! violates all of my pretentious standards--it's a chain, its food is of unknown providence, its name is embarrassing to say and even mildly offensive--but they do 'dogs and sausage sandwiches right. This is the Calabrese (pork, paprika, chili, fennel) on a quality, perfectly toasted bun. It reminded me of the choripan sandwiches I used to eat in Argentina, where I lived for two years and picked up this vaguely Latin, worldly vibe.
