You don't spell it, you eat it! When nothing but a Japanese cake filled with sweet azuki bean paste will do, I head over to Mitsuru Cafe, a tiny rundown cafe hidden in Little Tokyo's Japanese Village Plaza, for the irresistible imagawayaki. Priced at just $1 a pop, the desserts (which you can watch being made in the cafe's kitchen through the front window) are an easy and cheap way for me to satisfy my sweet tooth and get a quick culture fix all at once.
