It's impossible to pass by Boriana's Ferry Building shop without pausing--and, if you're weak like me, purchasing--one of the lightly sugar-dusted doughnuts called bomboloni (which are chewy and airy like beignets, and filled with custard, chocolate, jam or Nutella) that sit like deep fried jewels in the display case out front. At $2.50-$2.75 each, they're not exactly the most bang for your buck, but your thighs will definitely thank you that they're not any cheaper--or bigger.
