Looking up at the menu at Nick’s, a Greek hole in the wall known for their addictively cheap eats and friendly chef/owners, you’ll find plenty of hearty Greek grub for minimal coin. But when I caught “Split -- $2.50” I had to find out what the hell a Split was. It’s a red hot (aka a hotdog that’s bright red in natural casing) that’s been split in half long ways, put in a seeded hamburger bun with onions, ketchup and mustard. I got mine with chili for an extra $.50. Glorious. They use the same type of dogs as the Nu-Way Weiner in Macon, and the chili is just meaty enough to prevent you from ordering a second one. As you can see, I couldn't wait to rip into this guy. It tasted like a hot dog had just invaded a sloppy joe.
